On November 26, 2018, professor Mark Richard Poustie of the University of Strathclyde (UK), at the invitation of the school of humanities and law, gave a one-week "introduction to literature of English law major" all-english course for postgraduate students of our school of law.
Assistant professor li na, dean of the school of humanities and economics, first made a brief introduction to professor Mark Poustie, and expressed a warm welcome to professor Mark Poustie's visit on behalf of the school. Subsequently, professor Mark Poustie introduced the basic knowledge of Anglo-American legal literature retrieval in detail, and described the research frontiers of major foreign scholars on administrative law, economic law, civil and commercial law in the retrieval of foreign legal professional databases. At the same time,
professor Mark Poustie elaborates on the tradition, legal system and comparative studies of laws of different countries from the perspective of administrative law and civil and commercial law, and lists the similarities and differences between Anglo-American legal systems and China in terms of contract conclusion and liability for breach of contract. Finally, professor Mark Poustie instructs the students on how to write papers. The classroom atmosphere is harmonious and the interaction is frequent. At the end of each lecture, professor Mark Poustie had an in-depth conversation with teachers and students and answered some academic questions of concern.
Professor Mark Poustie is an internationally renowned environmental jurist. He has long served as deputy dean of international affairs and dean of the law school of the school of social sciences at the university of Clyde. At the same time, professor Mark Poustie has made a lot of achievements in the academic research field. He has done exquisite and original research in environmental law, land law, urban planning law, European Union law and other fields, and has extensive influence at home and abroad. Professor Mark Poustie is also an active activist with extensive involvement in government environmental policy making. Since 2013, he has been employed as the "Oriental scholar" chair professor of Shanghai university of finance and economics. He has been offering courses on international environmental law, environmental law and European Union law in the law school.
